Health Guarantee

Buyer understands additional care will be needed to insure health and well-being of said puppy.

HEALTH – ______ (Buyer’s Initials)

Seller states that the puppy you are purchasing is healthy at the time of sale. For purpose of this agreement, once the puppy leaves the seller’s premises, it is under the buyer’s control. Notice of any problem with said puppy must be received within 24 HOURS in the manner described below.

  1. This is a binding contract for the purpose of protecting both Seller and Buyer. Julie Bradford, herein after referred to as Seller, certifies that said puppy is in good health to the best of Seller’s knowledge. Buyer has 5 (work) days after purchase and possession to take the puppy to a state licensed Veterinarian and to have the Veterinary Examination Report

completed by the attending Veterinarian. This report must be mailed to seller immediately following the examination. Failure to return written report within 24 hours of exam invalidates this contract.

Note: Report may be mailed or emailed.

  1. Buyer has been advised and understands that virtually all puppies carry the protozoa that cause Coccidia and Giardia and that stressful conditions such as moving to a new home, transportation, lack of sufficient rest, etc. can cause Coccidia or Giardia to become active, causing diarrhea which may be gelatinous and light blood tinged. This contract does not cover parasites such as Coccidiosis, Giardia, or other parasites that puppies commonly carry. This contract does not cover Hypoglycemia (abnormally low levels of blood glucose).

  1. This puppy is guaranteed for 72 hours from date and time of purchase against infectious diseases such as Parvo, Corona or Distemper.
  2. *This puppy is guaranteed until one year of age against fatal and life-altering congenital/hereditary disease which adversely affects the health of the dog. This includes severe hip dysplasia, which hampers a dog’s natural movement and requires surgery to correct, heart, kidney, pancreas, liver, and spine problems of a severe life-threatening or -altering nature. If the dog dies during the time of this active sales contract, the buyer will pay to have it autopsied to determine the reason. If the reason is congenital/hereditary, the seller will replace the puppy. There are some disorders which may be produced by environmental factors. This includes thyroid dysfunction, allergies, demodectic mange, and additional autoimmune disorders which are not covered under this guarantee. Any physical problem which is or could be the consequence of injury is not covered through this guarantee.
  3. All items covered under this contract are by replacement only. We do not give refunds. Seller will not be responsible for any medical expenses incurred. Buyer is aware that buying a puppy means trips to the Veterinarian and understands that they will be responsible for all those payments. The puppy has received proper vaccinations and wormings as of the date of delivery/pick up. The buyer has been informed of these and of future vaccinations and wormings which will be due. Seller is not responsible to refund or replace a puppy due to reasons such as: allergies, landlord disapproval or moving.
  4. We sell our puppies on a strict spay/neuter agreement. Puppies must be spayed/neutered by the age of 1 year old. Original documentation must be sent to me, the breeder, stating that this has been completed no later than their first birthday. Failure to do so by this age will incur a penalty. If a copy of your puppy’s spay/neuter certificate is not received by the Seller by the agreed upon time, Seller will assume puppy is being used for breeding and Buyer will be billed the difference between a companion puppy price ($) and a breeding dog price ($5,000).
  5. In the event that buyer must re-home puppy at any time, seller must be notified at once and puppy either returned to seller for re-homing or placed in a mutually agreed upon second party’s home. (ie. Family member or close friend) No part of this contract is transferable to any other party than the original buyer.

RETURNS – _____________(Buyer’s Initials)

Seller will consider a replacement puppy only if the conditions detailed in the “Health” section are met. If the puppy has not visited the Veterinarian as agreed, within the 72 hour time frame, and Seller has not received the Vet Exam Report, NO exchange will be considered.

  1. To receive a replacement puppy, Seller must be notified of the problem within two business days of a licensed Veterinarian’s determination. Seller has the right to request a second opinion from another Veterinarian who is not associated with the first Veterinarian. A puppy with a defect must be returned to the seller to qualify for a replacement puppy. To return the puppy all of the veterinary reports and all other associated paperwork confirming puppy’s condition must be presented with the puppy.
  2. Buyer will be given a replacement puppy of same sex, color and value. If replacement puppy is not available at the time, Buyer will be given a voucher for puppy and notified immediately when comparable puppy is available.
  3. A returned puppy must be returned to the seller in good condition, other than the specified problem.

We reserve the right to decline a puppy adoption for any reason. In the event that this happens we will refund any deposit.
